14" tire size

195/70-14 was the original tire size with an overall tire plus wheel diameter of 24.71" (wheel diameter of 356.72 mm and a sidewall height of 136.5 mm).

Coker has the Vredstein 195/70VR14 with an overall diameter of 24.80" for $269.

Coker has the Michelin XWX 205/70VR14 with an overall diameter of 25.10" for $440. The consensus on the forum is that these are THE tires if you want the best original replacement!

Of course, if you are not racing your car on the autobahn, you can get some H rated tires (max speed 130 mph or 209 km/h) for about $50-100.

be careful, stock rims are 6J, that means 195 is the recommended maximum size

I run 215/60 tires on my stock wheels. I have never had a problem doing so. I even ran 225 wide tires on the rear for a while until they became difficult to find.
