I've been test driving my 2000CS with 45 DCOE's and no air box and they make a lovely sound but it's a bit loud and I was thinking of putting the old stock air box back in. Most of the setups I see here use those little round mesh race filters. I don't mind losing a little top end power around town if an air box would make it quieter and maybe smoother at lower revs.

Pretty sure the airbox will quiet things down, and allow for better air filtration. Not sure about making the car run smoother at low revs, but I have never had an airbox on my triple Webers.
