Hello, new to group with 1972 CS white/auto. I just changed to weber dual 32/36 carbs and the recommended fuel pressure is around 2 or 3 pounds. Cold someone say if I need to install a fuel pressure regulator. AFAIK the stock pump delivers 3.5 to 4 pounds.
I just got tired of monkeying with the zeniths, i hear they are great carbs but I will save them for another day. It sure runs allot better. When i opened the zeniths they were full of crud from 20 years of sitting around in an OLD bimmer dealership. The car has less than 60,000 miles but has some rust which hopefully i will get under control (POR15) til I can afford a full restoration.
My temp gauge sits just below half but it seems hotter than my bavaria under the hood. Havent quite figured that out yet. Still busy tuning and getting her shined up.
I bought the car and there entire inventory of left over parts from the 80s to 90s, complete with all the BMW specialty tools which I have yet to figure out what they are for. I do recognize that I have 2 'Iron Maidens' one 4cyl and one 6 cyl. and stacks of old brochures for E30s etc. Its quite fun having my own parts department as I have 2 bavs, 3 e30s a coupe and a 1974 02.
Anyways, I have really enjoyed perusing all the posts and looking forward to more. Cheers!
