Hi,

The face of each wheel was media blasted, primed, painted, and clear coated. They are driver quality with their fair share of nicks and curb rash. They were a second set I had, but I never mounted them after painting. The four hubcaps are also driver quality with scratches and little dents. On one the emblem is coming off and could use a replacement. Like I said, driver quality. They look great from 10 feet away. I have no idea what they are worth. $300? I'm in Virginia.

I have a bunch of photos - some showing some of the imperfections. Email me at: allans 3 5 6 at hotmail

Thanks

Every Coupe owner should have a set of these with appropriate tires for 20-30 years down the road. The next owner will thank you.

I'm a bit surprised - I haven't gotten a single request for pictures. Should I just put them on ebay then?

My first impression was "pricey". They used to trade for about $100 a set (not including covers) not too long ago.

wheels and caps

Always consider the full price; i.e., with shipping...thus your wheels are between $400 and $430...gas has come way down, but shipping hasn't exactly followed. It's the way I have to look at everything that I buy, especially on the "coast of less good stuff"...
Be patient, also. Good luck.

Assuming that there are only four wheels, shipping should be between $60 and $80. If you have a shipping department at your work, ask if they have a discounted rate. That is for two boxes btw.

I bought a set of 14" E9 FPS wheels and the seller had them shipped for $66. I shipped a set of 15's from Seattle to New Jersey for $60. I also shipped a set of 18" alpinas in four 26lb boxes for under $100.

I haul has a nice 16" box that holds two wheels nicely. I got my four 18" boxes from discount tire for free. as a bonus, they had rubber lip guards inside the box.

Sure, and a pay telephone call used to cost a dime. But that $100 price was for raw wheels with no caps. e9allan's wheels come with caps, and have been blasted, primed, painted, and clear coated. I think that adds to their value.

Nonetheless, the supply of these wheels (and hubcaps) seems to exceed their demand, especially as people favor larger diameter wheels.

For Sale 2 E9 Wheels

If you look on Parts page 2 dated 09-09-2015 I have a phone number of a person selling two of these wheels for $25 each. The wheels nare in RI about a hour from where I live.

Well, thanks for the feedback. I guess the work done to them warrants no added value to anyone except myself. I won't sell them for $100. that is less than what I have in them. So, I guess I will put them away. I just thought somebody might want a set in pretty good presentable shape. Maybe I will try ebay, but I really hate dealing with them.

Thanks again.

imho - stock wheels sell for 200 / 250 bucks per set w/ chrome covers in reasonable shape. my take is yours are above reasonable shape - the problem is that you need to have somebody who is in the market for them. the good news is that they fit the coupe and the bavaria ... the bad news is that there aren't that many decent tires that are available for the stock 14" wheels. and that is where the rub comes in as it relates to value.

if somebody is looking for near perfect wheels, then you figure that the cost of refurbishment is a minimum of 75 bucks per wheel - 300 for the set + the cost of the wheels - so 450 to 550 bucks. its just finding that person.

good luck
