from what it looks like
it seems all bmw sunroof cables are the same
just different numbers
is that true

If the part numbers are different the parts are different. Not that they couldn't be modified perhaps.

Well the number for the 02 is diiff
yet the same part

if the numbers are different, then either the length or end fittings are different. if BMW used the exact same part, they used the exact same number. they are german ... and that's the way they do things. if one minute thing is different - different part number. that doesn't mean that you couldn't use it ... it just means that it might not fit or operate perfectly.

I'd install a used Volvo cable instead of a new BMW one - the metal, rather than plastic end makes all the difference. Maybe the Volvo cables are available new - I just don't know.
