Has anyone found an alternative for these, both back and front? The price is just getting out of hand for an original. I paid 75 bucks in 2017 for the long one, now twice that. Crazy!

But they last decades...so price should not be as critical as quality.

I bought a set for about $50 from Amazon a couple years ago. They were not for E9 but some other German car. The profile was correct and the lengths were just a little long so I needed to trim a few inches off. They work well as every time I have a planned drive in my E9, it unexpectedly rains. I’ve attached a photo of the part from Amazon. $50 is a lot for 5 feet of felt covered aluminum but these last quite a long time and I needed it ASAP.

I thought the felt is to reduce wind noise, not to seal water out, but then again I live in CA...

Thanks John. I dont need one I was just realizing that the 23K I spent on parts to redo my E9 from 2016 to 2021 would be like 45K today so how can we save someone just starting, some cash!

There are parts from other manufacturers that are more supportive of their classics that can cross reference like the washer fluid pump from Porsche. Porsche also used Goldie products and Sierra Madre has the felt for the Porsche that is identical and 1/2 the price but they do not state length. I don't care how well the product is made, it is not $175 product and I won't go into the sunroof cable cost. The guide tubing for an electric sunroof is over $300 while I picked up a Porsche part for 90 bucks and it is the same.

Not often one can say a Porsche part is cheaper than something else. Don’t let the P people hear that.., they’ll jack the price up.
