A friend made this quick rendering and thought I would share. Sorry for hacking a picture of a possible members car. Did not have a reasonable picture of my own E9 to modify.
This would be the BMW version of the Volvo P1800 Hatchback. Much cooler.
Anybody in for a serious project?

I think that would be a great dog carrier. Very nicely done. That would be neat if ever I wanted another Coupe and if it could have a hatch that worked well with a flat bed . It would be nice if the roofline didn't go quite that far back and there was a quarter window at the back. I'd also like a door post. Anyway, fun to ponder I suppose.

Interesting concept with a very fragile looking roof. I think even slight finger pressure will collapse it.

mixed feelings...

:shock::idea::x:razz:

thanks for sharing, the rendering is good, probably better if you shape it a little to avoid seing the reference lines, like this:

touringe9_zpsd5b7cb01.jpg

is has some rememberance with the 2002 touring, but much more elegant lines

the rear window though is ridiculous, SO BIG and not proportioned, not to mention steve´s point on the impossibility of any movement of that window (probably fixed), and what about an unexisting boot door, nor volume for luggage,...

anyway IMHO a nice excercise

For your next exercise, class, lets see you hack a 3.0CS as a pickup truck. After that take the top and windshield off completely.

would be cool if someone could pull it off with some finesse... part fixed rear window and part custom roll down would do it. Wind noise? What wind noise?

The hatch would be the hard part. Kickstarter funding for Mario's project?
