As we know, these windshield wipers arms are supposedly held in place on the spines from the motor assembly by a little detent. Over the years, the detent becomes too weak and looses it pressure strength.

I was in a hurry for a fix so I found a hard rubber grommet and I cut a little piece I could push behind the detent. This increases the pressure and works well, at least as a temporary measure.

IIRC there are more permanent solutions on the forum but this works decently as a quick fix

I thought a #8 steel screw would work. Ya drill a hole through the wiper stem into the spindle, and then use your trusty impact screw driver to seat the screw in from the outside! Problem solved!! :p

I installed the fix that is well-described in a previous thread, involving drilling, tapping and installing a tiny allen setscrew. Now I'm confident that my wiper arms aren't coming off inadvertently. But I worry that when do I want to get them off, the small hex opening in the screw and/or the small allen wrench is going to strip.

Bo's solution is more maintenance-friendly. Unfortunately, the little clips were missing on my arms, so reinforcing their springiness wasn't an option.
