Couple laps at the start of Sunday's race. End up chasing a 68 Ford Mustang till end of the race.
Not sure why a modern Lamborghini race car came out in our group, but it was humbling for all us vintage guys.
Always good to be at the track.

Shawn

Also a link to the SVRA/Trans Am live broadcast (start at 2:10:30 for Group 6/12).
One of the announcers really liked the 2800cs (not a lot of screen time, but some memorable mentions)

Good memory!
Yes it is.
no, its not memory ... i was just checking to update the car in the coupe ancestry project. what i know about the car

4-28-1970 - delivered to dealer in Monterey, CA
1989 - 2006 - the car lived in Virginia
2009? - it was sold as a rolling shell in Mountain View, CA
and now a track car with you

Got it.
Here are a couple updates for coupe ancestry project.

- Car delivered on April 28th, 1970 to BMW importer Hoffman Motors Corp. in New York City per Andreas Harz/BMW Group Classic
- Car was purchased by a previous owner (Scott) in Monterey, CA August of 1989 and then went to Virgina and Florida with him from 1989 to 2006.
- Car was then bought by Tom and stripped for a 3.0cs restoration he was doing in Mountain View.
- I bought shell April 2009 from Tom in Mountain View and converted to a race car.

Thank you.

Do you have a build thread for this car? I would love to see photos from the race car's construction.. any chance you will be at Laguna Seca Historics in August? I'd love to stop by and see your vehicle in person.

Original paint color was Nachtblau Metallic (paint code 40) per Andreas.
When I bought car it had been repainted at some point to Pacific (pre e9 color). Custom colors now.

I won't be at the Historics/Reunion this summer, probably next race in the fall (hopefully with my brothers). If in SoCal, always welcome to stop by and check out car in Upland. Someday I will put together a build thread online but for now have all info at the shop.

Wow I just found this thread and it is awesome! Thanks for sharing. The CS looks so small next to those Mustangs. Also considering the rare metal out there, it’s impressive how hard some guys go - that red corvette showing up on your inside going up the hill…

I would also love to see a build thread some time. I have a very ratty E30 race car and have dreamed of an E9 racer. I don’t think my build skill or driving skill would get me into this class of racing, but I’m very impressed and would love to hear more about the car!
