Taking the plunge

Here I am the owner of a restored E3, E24 x 2 (635 and M6), 67 mustang, 2007X3, 2011 335xi, Acura TLS and a two car garage! So who needs another car?

I get a call from someone that says, "let's take a look at a Italian market 3.0 CS (originally Taiga..OMG I love this color), the guy doesn't want to sell but what the hell". We meet, we talk, he has more projects than he can finish even though he's a doer. Next thing I know, I give him a deposit on car #8 for my 2 car garage.

So the mechanicals I am very familiar with, the bodywork a little. I believe all the rubber bits about the doors and windows will have to go. I know all the sources but none stand out. There is a German Ebay seller (ex link below) with 100% feedback who sells a lot of this stuff but aftermarket. Anybody have experience? I don't want to cut corners but most of the factory stuff is NOS, ie 40+ y.o. rubber. Also major fear is the headliner that needs to be replaced as this car has a factory electric sunroof so the headliner has a built in zipper to access the motor.

Yea, I am engineer so I can't spell plunge correctly....but you cannot edit a Title............apologies.
 
I read that and thought to myself.... That's how I would spell plunge....
I expect to make a spelling error most every post.
How can you resist Taiga?
 
I've bought some rubber products from that seller on ebay, no problems so far and quality has been OK.
And, we want to see some pictures of your Taiga CS!

I have to keep the peace so my wife's X3 and the Bavaria. I will pull the" I need the X3 garage spot to work on the M6" and leave the M6 there for weeks at a time. I usually get away with it. I am now going to canvas my neighborhood and try to find some space. This is a bad habit.
