Steve (lafngravy), Luigi's Owner, has been generous and allowed me to poke under the hood. I've seen Luigi on the track at Laguna Seca multiple times, but it's really inspiring to see other points of view on the CSLs...

Near the end, when the camera POV shifts to a camera in the passenger area.. you can see the sandblasting debris drift across the view...

There is a small bit of the heel / toe technique in the original video posted by Lucas... they have occasional pedal shots which capture it.

In my opinion, one of the masters was (and still is) rally driver extraordinaire Walter Rorhl, as shown in this video:

Another great watch, and super impressive driving. I’ve taken my E30 rally-crossing a couple times and the RWD is quite a handful (more than two hands full with the slow steering rack) in the dirt! And those rutted roads - I’d be so worried about ripping a bumper off!

Rally driving in a RWD car on a loose surface requires good physical preparation and equally good skills in balancing the car using the throttle.
