The actual wording of Tariff code 9903.01.33 that is kicking our ass.

its a fair question - it comes back to one of the questions that formed this country - taxation without representation. when the congress doesn't do its job of legislation and lets the executive branch do what it wants to do, we run the risk of something bad happening. i could go more into this discussion, but i will wander into area that doesn't belong on this forum ... while doing my best to be non-political.

Just got a shipment DHL… long story… ordered it months ago.

I refused to pay the tariffs…. They left it on my doorstep. No fees paid… I’m probably on their shit list

I didn’t want a collection on my credit report.

That’s the stick they have to beat you into paying.

I have a UPS account- they have all my info.

This morning’s bit of bad news- €50 to ship two spark plugs from Germany….

Hello, unfortunately the shipping costs are incorrect. Due to Trump's new tariffs, the total shipping cost would now be €50. You would have to pay an additional €30. Do you want to pay the extra costs, or should I cancel the purchase? Thank you and best regards Erik

I’m curious as to what spark plugs need to be sourced from Germany. ???

I believe the corporate shipping companies take the approach that people are expecting to pay more thanks to the tariff nonsense so they use the confusion on what items are subject to what tariff to just raise all prices to levels they think they can get away with.

W&N has been fighting with UPS on my behalf for a previous order. For recent order this week this is the response that I got:

thank you for your order.

shipping will be with UPS, delivery time 4-6 days.

The problem with US customs clearance are solved, we are able to provide the correct declaration now.

Regular shipping to the US will start on Monday.

for those that have to go through the tariff protest with UPS, there is a new excel spreadsheet that you have to fill out and itemize everything - list what you are protesting, why you are protesting, post a picture of the product / provide a product data sheet ... and give them all of the other data on when entering, the SCS number, the UPS number, etc. even though i submitted everything in October, it was recently turned over to a collections agency - so i went through the process all over again. what a PITA. i was about ready to pay the darn thing with the proviso that if UPS accepted this payment they were agreeing that they had overcharged me tariffs and would be subject to a legal dispute ... but i decided to jump through the hoops one more time.
