thanks to SFDon who breathed life into the green meanie over the last couple weeks installing the new MegaSquirt and all the other fun goodies! Had to change the fuel pump which had been a big deficiency. Someone had replaced the original with a pump for a carbureted car, delivering only 9psi instead of the ~80 that it needed. Yeah, I can see that being a problem.
I still need to put in a sensor or two, change the centerlink tie rod(any hints or comments on the most efficient way to do that?), and a new radiator hose. But this is the first time in the last 19 months that I have owned it that it has purred like this.
The only downside is I was off island when he completed the tasks. So of course he called to let me hear it so I would know what I was missing. Now it just sits there taunting me from 2000 miles away until I get home to drive the bejeezus (that's the technical term) out of her.
Having the original York a/c compressor rebuilt and planning the installation of a turbo is next
