Carb badge + L-LL 450 Scheels
Bonjour Yannick,
- Badge issue:
I could live with the theory that there was no logic in the carb-badging - it sounds like "period-logic". It's most likely ruled by the number of original holes on the trunk lid.
- Scheel full-velvet issue on LL-H450:
I have another Zonderdrück-article (in German) signed Paul Frère and titled "Test: BMW Alpina 3.0 CSL". Unfortunately is doesn't say from which Magazine.
In this article, Frère drives the LL-L 502. The car is pictured beside some parking/factory building with a huge staircase in the fond. In this article, there are two comparable interior shots: LL-H450 + LL-L 502. The interior-picture of LL-H450, clearly shows a Scheel seat which looks like to be in full velvet (no lines). In style, similar to Jaime's 2275501 Scheel seat in velvet.
Also, if I compare the early Werkfoto of the carb-interior, it looks like full-velvet, compared to the Werkfoto (nr 7423) of the later Bat-CSL interior. Same resolution and angle on the photos, but (in my eyes) completely different Scheel fabric.
In conclusion: as I cannot convince my family about the Scheel-issue, I'm not allowed to wear any of the Motorsport clothing from the 70s anymore. The punishment is; only wear M-Style collection clothing and drive coupes from the late 80s, e.g. M6 E24 (with the 15kg NMT Mobile Telephone "Ericsson Hotline"), until this velvet-case is closed.
Cheers
Henric
PS 1:
The BMW Classic 2212278 is of course Colorado (my mistake), but it was new to me that it was Golf from factory (ex Joel T:s car?) In an article written by Jean-Pierre Beltoise, there is another French Golf Carb with a similar reg plate - 7292DE92. Beside the carb, a French Polaris, with black stripes 2275-car (Bat?) with reg plates 9337QN95, appears.
PS 2:
Speaking about French CSLs, there is an article, about GG:s early injection-Taiga, in the October-November 2011 issue of the "Le Monde de la BMW - BMW World" (no 113). Interesting story about the colors of that car.
