Thermostat housing to clear new triple Webers - Korman?

Hi Folks,

I will be order a handful of these. If anyone wants to go in on a group buy, please reach out via PM. This isn’t a classified listing, I only need one for my car, and one for a friends car.

This bracket is both a spacer and and method to offset the housing away from the carbs and manifold. The three screws inclidrd pass through the spacer and thread into the existing stud holes. The threaded holes accept the studs to mount the t-stat housing.

looks quite well thought out / manufactured Markos. WELL DONE

These aren't my design. I'm just talking to an international vendor to get a handful. I'll take the pat on the back for reaching the end of the internet though. :D

So it offsets it forward towards the fan?

Correct. It's a bit confusing. I actually rotated the image to make more sense of it. I email the guy back and said unfortunately they wouldn't work. Followed five minutes later by a "nevermind - I'm an idiot" response. :D

FYI - I ordered six of the relocation brackets shown above, 5 of which are spoken for. If anyone is in need shoot me a note. Since I bought them in bulk, the cost is slightly less. They aren't very expensive to begin with.

Mark

Bit late to the party, but is there any possibility to order one of these, even as a one-off production?

Hi @NiekN,

You can contact the owner of Racehead Engineering. He manufactures them. I believe they cost $65 plus shipping from Australia and/or Hong Kong. As you know shipping can be expensive even for a small part. They only weigh a few ounces though, so it doesn’t really cost most to ship 10. What I did was charge everyone less than what it would cost themselves to buy/ship one, but enough to cover the cost of my spacer.

Check with @Hal Boyles, he is evaluating mine and may want to purchase as well. Makes sense to buy about 10 or so.

Thank you Markos! I'll get in touch with him to find out more.

I took an original housing to a guy that i knew could weld aluminum.
With proper pieces given to him as guide he modified my housing so it would fit.
I had seen this before and knew it would work.
Ok, I'll go take a photo of it.
This was 5 years ago when I had this done. It was less than $150.
If Korman's is still $200 buy it.

Gary

Here are 2 pics of my Korman engine with their T-Stat housing and their intake manifold with 40DCOE Webers. They built this engine for the PO back in 2005.

Unless I'm mistaken, that later model thermostat housing is still available for around $50.

Correct. It fits and doesn’t protrude as far. That puts the hose against the #1 carb and not aluminum. A worthy first step in fitment if you don’t mind the eleventy-billion sensor ports.
