This is messed up.. mail stopped to USA

Yep Scott.

I have had no luck with UPS on these charges. The email they sent me with “a form” was nothing more than a FAQs pdf.

I also have a shipment that I bought off EBay that is now MIA. It was shipped DHL in mid August.

Their tracking is very unclear what is happening. Anyone have insight into DHL shipments.

DHL is usually good.
UPS is the gorilla gang.

all all big European orders are being held until at least October maybe November and small orders are being shipped to me in Spain where I will collect them and fly back with a huge suitcase or two.

The US dollar continues to dissolve….
Yes, that one is more structural than the tariffs and has been more than 15% since January I think.
I suspect it is the budget deficit plus the drop in interest rates on the dollar.

On an incredibly common sensical economic move, one of the largest fabless US companies in the US (NVDA) has taken a 5B$ stake in the largest US fab player (Intel) which is also taking US investment help. Broadcom and Apple should also chip in if common sense prevails :).

i think we need to find out how W+N is categorizing these things, or who is doing it for them. that is where the problem is. putting a 50% tariff on a part because it has steel or aluminum on it is the problem. and then putting a 50% tariff on the retail value of the part ... instead of the weight of the metal. its crazy stuff. paging Albrecht at W+N ... please do your homework

I’ve been through all my WN invoices Scott. They have categorized mine correctly. UPS has been the issue in the case of the 200% tariff.

Now as far as the 50% tariff I agree. There needs to be some separation. And that is squarely on WN.

I have had no luck with DHL. They cannot answer a question at all… just around and around and around with apologies and no answers. Not their fault I know.

Anyone got a header liner front section they want to part with domestically?

I’m pretty much thinking my goal of getting this car done this year is toast.

And as I have shared previously. When I got parts from Stefan… correctly categorized and proper tariff applied.

Oh and BTW… sorry Don. As a business owner who has his life turned upside down on this crap… it is unbelievable.

so ... today, 20 days after delivery, i got an invoice from UPS for an additional 123.50 for brokerage charges + US customs duties ... and is also noted that it is subject to a late payment fee of 9.9% of the total charges outstanding if the invoice isn't paid by 9-20-2025 ... and today is the 23rd. i think i am going to tell them to come pick it up and send it back. the total metal weight of my order is 6.5 oz of metal (including the plastic bag and paint). of course, that would mean i would have to take one of my turn signals off and put the bracket back in the bag.

but i think i am going to challenge them based on the duty class that they have charged me 50% on, when the current tariff on that class is 25% ... and that is based on the weight of metal. being that there were rubber, silicone, plastic + foam in my order, i am NOT going to pay a steel tariff on those items ... much less a big brokerage fee for improper work on their part.

Wow.
Late fees must be included in your written contract to be enforceable
Best practice is 5-7 day grace period and charge 1.5% monthly (18% annual) if your state has no specific limit

i'm thinking there might be grounds for a class action suit against UPS for overcharging. 50% tariff on items from the EU / Germany is double ... and then adding another 2.5% tariff on everything.

my order was 180.57 on parts, UPS is charging me 163.06 for duties + brokerage charges. ridiculous. oh, the best part, if you go online and try to challenge something, you first have to accept all of their terms + conditions. yeah, right.

I agree Scott. That’s what a number of lawyers I was discussing this with said.

They are being bullies. Don’t pay it man. Challenge them. What about all the charges they had us pay in error… you think they are gonna voluntarily give them back?

i think i might try taking UPS to small claims court. the more i think about it, the more upset i get about it - 180 bucks worth of parts - 49 euro shipping, 68 bucks in brokerage and 95 bucks of incorrectly imposed duties (220+ to get 180 bucks worth of parts) - and UPS got 125 bucks. the basic duty should have only been 45 bucks.

I’m only shipping UPS inside Europe.

What to do with $10,000.00 worth of glass sitting in Walloth’s warehouse?

I can’t accept it in USA.

It will sit. Thankfully glass doesn’t rust like German steel.

Long shot! Go back to the credit card company you used and file a claim. I did that with a scammer a while back who got me for $50.00. VISA immediately credited my account $50,00 and started a file. There was one email saying they were proceeding with the claim. Last email from VISA: claim resolved, the $50.00 is yours to keep.

Worth a 15 minute email.

Wall Street investors are buying up claims to potential tariff refunds, betting that the Supreme Court will strike down President Donald Trump’s signature economic policy and require the government to disgorge tens of billions of dollars that companies have paid this year in import taxes.
