Throw Out Bearing and Clutch Kit Question

@e9Leveque if you need the later style TO bearing, clutch slave, and a new brass pivot. I have all these parts new in box.
I looked through my parts and your pictures. My TO bearing looks like the new one you ordered, and the clutch kit I ordered included a TO bearing designed for an early e24 so I believe I have the right part. A little digging showed me that I had ordered the -25 part but then returned it. So I think I’m good. When I assembled it it was clear that parts were contacting correctly for my later-style bell housing and I do have the newer slave cylinder. So I think I’m good. Phew!

Early four speeds and late four speeds use different bell housings and different slave cylinders and different housing covers to the input shaft. An early four speed can be converted to use the later bell housing and slave cylinder by changing the input shaft housing cover. A good reason to keep those Housing covers off of bad 5 Speed transmissions so that you can convert your expensive four speed slave cylinder to the inexpensive late version.

And speaking of that, do not buy Metelli slave cylinders they are cheap for a reason. They have a high failure rate.

Kyle - I will check at the shop this morning to see if I have an early TO bearing on the shelf

Good to hear! I'll bring the latter 4 speed/5-speed parts to the event maybe someone else could use them
