Looking at the Photo Gallery for all of the models
and it seems that very few have tinted windows.

Is there a reason that more windows are not tinted?
Not a total black out but something noticeable.

What's your opion on tinting your e9 windows.

Thanks,

These cars are fish bowls, with enough glass to fry you on a good day. The dashes of our cars don't crack for no reason.
I had total limo tint for 20+ years. Days it's great, nights it's a lesson in paying extreme attention, in traffic.
I live in high Nevada desert, but no hotter than the sf valley in Calif.
I have a polaris color cs, with black interior, and A/C that is not hooked up.
I personnaly like the color combo with the tint.
Removed all of the tint for 2 summers, and now have gone back to dark medium tint.
Black, baikal and verona paint with tint would be nice, but not all colors will have the same contrast with all of the chrome, windows and color.
Perhaps I am a heretic? Most likely.....
Viva la difference(sp)

Most of the cars from 1971-72 onwards came with green tinted windows, as far as I know. However, the green tint is quite weak compared to Jaguar´s Sundym which was far darker. My early 2800CS had clear windows, and a very cool heated rear window with 30+ very thin, invisible wires. This was probably NOS from the 2000 CS, as was the true enamel front and rear badges (rather than the raised letter, painted model which came later). That car was built in January `69. I still have it.

Hey Steve,
I have the same color combo and the same heat problems. Here in Pasadena, CA the car is simply not drivable during parts of the summer where it's +100F outside. I need to get the windows done.

Do you have photos of your car with the tint ?

I've seen ads for films that are semi-clear, but claim to cut the UV and heat way down. Have you (or anyone else) investigated their use ?

The reason I ask is, I am into doing that 1 thing that
leads to another, that I am sure everyone does.
I am doing new carpet, headliner,
and upgrading the window motors to the e28 motors.

My thoughts are, that while I have the headliner, carpet
door panels/motors out why not tint the glass while
it is out and use Lizard Skin on all the surfaces.
Then paint the interior the body color.

The claim is 20 - 30 degrees cooler and 10 -12 db
quieter.

Anyone used this product? The demo's I have seen
are impressive.

Thanks,
