Tool tray NMNA

Is this an unrealistic price? What would it cost to find a good used tool tray that needs minimal (if any) repair, and to put together a set of tools?
 
Well, a new stronger version of the tool tray is around $400. Not available new are the red screwdrivers, Allen wrenches, feeler gauge (missing), some of the wrenches (which will be a later style), and perhaps the large pliers (I can’t even find used 9” pliers). The tube wrenches are correct along with the large pin. The large screwdriver is not correct, he claims to have the correct one. Paul Cain sold a set for $2200 two years ago to a member here.

But just like coupe prices, the increases here just blow me away. I have sold both drivers for $200, six wrenches for $150, both pliers for $50, tubes and pin for $60, looks like those days are gone. All of the pieces have become difficult to find now. Wiha makes an acceptable set of Allen wrenches, they just don’t say Heyco.
 
Not a strange price considering the prices i'm seeing for some items.
Large pliers seem to be incorrect. And not sure if the small pliers are just misplaced, but its legs don't fit the openings in the foam.

Surprisingly, i see for the first time a print on the tommy bar (the stepped pin): Looks like it says "Heyco 1360 Germany"; which is strange, because at E9 /E3 times BMW and HEYCO were still in West Germany, and all confirmed correct Hecyo tools I've seen respected the "W-" before "Germany" religiously.

Looks like the tray can still be had, but ECSTuning says backordered. Hmm...

I can't justify spending $$$ for tools. Not to mention, the weight of the tools will cause the tabs on the tray to break.
 
Spending $$$ on tools indeed makes little sense. But that is the beauty of a hobby; you get to make all kinds of non rational decisions. Often the most enjoyable me thinks.

Neither one of my 6 cylinders moved for 7 years; perhaps I should pay someone to finish my car? (No way...)
Why do I bother to have 8 small pliers?
I honestly cannot give you (nor my wife) a good answer.
So I hide em...
