Towing anchor points - improvement needed!

I appreciate all the advice and have had to deal with this with my Bavaria where the Alpina air dam sat even lower than the CSL one on my couple. It scraped all the time, I had to be real careful driving over bumps, potholes etc, but the Bavaria was also lowered, my coupe isn't and yes I had to use the wooden planks etc to get it on the flatbed, same with when I had to unload the Porsche (that sat even lower with an air dam) and the Bavaria off the car carrier/enclosed transport.

But what I was really hoping for was what racetrack tow hooks have people used that race CSL's etc and if they go through the area where the front bumper brackets attach. Seems like a great spot for one. I may not have my Euro bumper on for quite some time. It needs to still be shipped here from Holland, refinished, getting new rubber, then installed. Could be a few months. Track day is coming up so wanted something easy to attach a nylon rope to or whatever they use if I have any issues out there. That way I won't have to worry about the air dam either.

In my eu car the bumper mounts are weak: they are just 2 oblong holes in an 1,5 mm steel plate that make the frame rails. Pulling on there with two slot head bolts will load the side of the framerails, and thus put a twisting load on it.

Secondly, the holes are desinged so that the slotted bolt will be pulled OUT of the slotted hole; it's designed for pushing forces by the bumper.

I wouldn't dare to do it, my feeling says "too weak".

On US cars, isn't the bumper mount made with 2 pieces of 3/4 inch steel tube that runs through the frame rails, from wheel side to engine side? Does it allow a bolt through the pipe? If so, then I would think it is strong enough to fab bout myself: a U -shaped part that wraps around the frame rails, and has a strip welded along the wheel side of the U, extending forward.

US coupes in 1973 used two through bolts and nuts on each side. In 1974 they had shock absorber bumpers with the mentioned tubes. Shane will mount aftermarket bumper irons that will fit around the widened frame rails on his 74 which requires drilling holes.
