Am I being stupid? putting the Waist trim back on, there are two stud holes behind the passenger window, do I have to take the entire window mechanism out to get to them?

Waist Trim

I was able to get them out with the window up, there were holes to place your ratchet extension. From the trunk side it is a long reach with two fingers but it can be done.

Thanks HB Chris, with that length of reach you must be able to wallpaper a room through a keyhole!! :D
The 6th one from the back has me just tipping it my fingers and my knuckles scrape the floor when I walk.will have another look tomorrow but the ratchet holes seemed to be lower than the stud nuts,
just re read the above and am very glad this a serious forum for E9s
Bill Gaaaaaaaauuuuww! would have a ball(excuse the pun) with it.

waist trim hardware

Getting it off was bad enough, I am NOT looking forward to putting it back on.

Did you use the old hardware or is there a source for new nuts and bolts?
I thought I remember something about SS being availble.

Anyone know??

Walloth and the Loch Ness Munster have them in stock and my local BMW agent got me new easily at around .80c Euro each Studs,Rubbers and Knuts
In Fact I'm finding that taking Postage/fedex from Germany Aus to Ireland into acount, my Main BMW is comparitive.
W&N are charging me Euro20 per shipment which is crazy for small items.
Which reminds me, anyone in the US have a paypal account I can pay into for some Mr Clean Magic Eraser with just popping into the post uninsured across to Ireland?
The Fedex charges for what amounts to a US$3.79 purchase are scary.

I've found that using 1/4" drive socket/extension/ratchet I can snake through. I have wondered if it wouldn't be faster though just to take the whole window/regulator out. Then you could also clean/grease the regulator/motor while it was out.

I tape the socket to the extension so it doesn't drop into never-never land.

Galway??

So Daxklynsmith,

Tell me where abouts in Galway do you live?

My in-laws have a house in ClaireGalway off Cloon Rd. (spelling may be off).

I've been over there 3 times, the 2nd time to get married at the Cathedral.

Too bad. I was over there a few months ago and could have delivered a case of the Mr Clean. Great times.

I would imagine some great roads for coupe cruising. (Conor Pass, Ring of Kerry...)

Anyway, drop me a PM and let me know exactly which Mr Clean you're looking for and how much.

Maybe I can trade it for some Super Macs chicken.

Laldog. am on the limerick side of Galway near Ardrahan.
Thanks, Phil is organising some mr Clean, its actually amazing stuff for stained Brightwork etc.
Ireland is a beautiful touring Country but the roads are'nt conducive to big Aiutomatics, a lot are very narrow and you spend a lot of time accelerating.
Completely off topic but bumped into the Dutch Ferrari club here yesterday
