Hello everybody,
I started restoring a 2800CS of 1970 3 years ago but due to busy body shop the body bolts and nut restoration took too long till 3 month ago. Now it is in its white original colour and perfect body. Unfortunately the my mechanic passed away and new mechanic has to take over and therefore I am left with some questions for which I am asking help.
1. now the new engine is done (block number 12524460) can I use the same engine mounts? Are they the same as original engine?
2. A new 5 speed bought and refurbished (Getrag 262.0.0510.90). Question is what flywheel, clutch set, bearing and fork and most importantly gearbox cross member shall I purchase for Mounting it on the motor?
I am also posting images.

Others may disagree but to my eyes your compliance bushing washer appears to be assembled in reverse?

Casting numbers don’t tell us very much. Is there a VIN stamp on the flat area above the starter? Did your motor come from a b34/b35 vehicle? If you have one of these you use the clutch pieces for that motor. Looks like motor is already in your car? And motor mount is attached? If you don’t have the bosses on the new motor for the old mount you will know immediately.

many thanks that is correct. they have assembled it just for transport as my last mechanic passed away and had to ship very fast.

@saman,

I moved this thread to general discussion for better visibility. Three day redirect. Removed duplicate photos. Cropped and rotated article text. Kept original photo.

One shot of nice clean new headers from above, several shots from below that don't show headers, no problem, BUT the header appears to go right past the rubber engine mount. The rubber may not last long with the header so close. The few later cars I've gotten greasy with have all had aluminum shields between rubber bits and the headers, suggest unless this is a show car, you get a shield for that mount.

No it is not a show car. I would appreciate a photo of your suggestion. Thanks for reformatting my post!

Dear Chris:
this is the stamping on the side of exhaust and apparently the engine is either an early alpina B9 or a pre 1983 3.5 litre. so what clutch shall i buy? 635 csi or B9 alpina?

You need the vin above the starter, that is your clue.

Looking at RealOEM.com, the clutch changed in March 84. If you enter the model and year based on vin you will have your answer. They all appear to be 240mm though.
