Alan,

Just a thought, you always seem to be in such a hurry that your posts are lost to many readers. Take a breath, slow down from a hectic life, and include some punctuation in your posts and we can all follow along and perhaps answer your questions. Hope my comments are taken in the manner they are given, just trying to help.

I'm not trying to jump on a bashing wagon; but I agree with Chris, I am not quite sure what it is you are offering for sale.

A couple of key things when posting to a forum, especially an adult forum:

1. Use proper grammar and punctuation. Some of us were born more than 4 decades ago so computers and the new "text talk" are second languages to us.

2. Clearly describe the items you are trying to sell. Think of how you would like to see them posted with appropriate descriptions. Condition, NOS, US/Euro? What did they come off of?

3. Pictures. They are worth a thousand words. Post some good pics. This helps take 99% of the guess work out of the equation.

4. Finally, a price and if you are willing to ship. This isn't an auction and most of us do not live around the corner from you.

I'm sure I am missing something; but I think following these 4 simple rules will help both buyer and seller. Also consider rules 1, 2, and 3 when posting in other sections as well, such as, General Conversation.

Here is a post I made earlier this week when I was asking for help with the location of a part. I think this makes the subject more pleasant to view. Question, pictures, diagram, part number. Also more people are willing to help if you give them the tools they need.

A 5th point that many people posting classified ads forget to include is their LOCATION. aearch did include his city, state and postal code, but it is surprising how many people trying to buy or sell something large/heavy never mention what continent they are on.

Well guys

First off in im the parts department it says i have them. I think that should be a no brainer. Then im sure if someone needs one they would see the post and send me a private message.
Then we could discuss it. Understand

why not contribute and quite being so petty.
No reply is needed . I understand what you say.
Good

Alan,

unfortunately its not a no-brainer. parts postings can be WTB or FS. people aren't being petty, most are honestly giving you constructive criticism. if you want people to pay attention to your posts - you should heed some of the meaningful things said to you.

please pay close attention to OCCoupe's recommendations for posts ... it will shorten your work. i will add one more thing, when anything is sold, go back an edit the original post or add another post (within the thread) stating that the part is sold.

cheers
scott

Really Look at it Again

Alan, does this make sense to you? Read this out loud to yourself.
Your Heading starts with Truck and below says Trunk and back to Truck and nothing about WTB or FS?

what

i realize it says truck not trunk
but the other abbreviations were from other peoples comments.
what i am saying is if everyone wants to be clear on there posts
don't put up those abbrev.
look at the posts below mine
they are using those abbrev. not me
i wanted those not used as they asked me to do
i just went back and corrected the spelling
happy now

Your posts are hard enough to read without the abbreviations, adding them just adds to the confusion.

Just heed the advice here.

Parts came from my '74 coupe ,and has some surface rust from sitting around and has grey primer on it.
Trunk lid - no additional hardware, lid has a 8" long dent and is 1/2" deep in the center.

Hi! Is this still the classified dept or is it the cultural realignment support, language development and effective communication sectiIon...I am scared too post now in case I use bad grammar, one needs skin like elephant hide to survive online sometimes. Please flame me off line, I can't bear public beatings, especially when they are my own.....
Me thinks there be some wide cultural chasms to bridge.
I found it didn't take that much effort to understand Allan's posts, once I got over the style he uses, but then I am probably a genius.:p
