Truck and inner fender

Let's start over, is this quote of the original so tuff to understand? Really, some of this is ad hominem thread crapping, and I sort of feel uncomfortable reading it. I resent being sucked into this thread, but it's getting beyond the pail, no? I try to participate positively here, and enjoy reading almost everything here.

I do not know earch and I hope he is not a bot and I hope I will NOT regret opening my mouth to defend the underdog. But, the guy seems to have a coupe that he enjoys working on and willing to share as best he can.

This is not the original quote. This is the highly edited version which was edited after we asked for more effort on the original poster's part to create a comprehensible ad. The original ad copy was omg, wtf, bbq at best.

Long boring

I get that. Myself, I enjoy the diversity. So I enjoy deciphering Allan's stuff. And his brevity. I remember being one of the first few viewers of his fender and truck posting. I was hoping for a fender stratocaster and an old Chevy truck, I guess that's the cowboy in me.

He has posted enough lately that I pretty well knew I was going to be doing some translation. The idea of having a good inner fender kind of appealed to me. I certainly expected some one to call him on that he had no price, and was intrigued how complete it was and what it might sell for. I certainly couldn't afford the shipping to Canada. I also wondered if it might include any intact dirt collector pockets or whatever those cavities at the top back of the front fenders.

So I had a bit of personal interest in the post. I dunno if you saw the post from the guy patching his car with sheet metal from a rover? Well inspired me to imagine cutting up an old fender for patch parts.

It's very difficult to interpret some peoples words over the Internet DAMHIK. Without my glasses and or squinting like crazy to check what my spell check did to my posts would be total gibberish, or at least more so.
So anyways, apologies to be sucking up so much bandwidth on this and would like nothing better than to get back to our regular scheduled programming.

Forward

I hope this interchange had value. Careful wording and details help both reader and (thus) poster. And hey this is internet, can't ask for perfection. And while folks may come from bunch of backgrounds interest in the details of these idiosyncratic Deutsch Autos is quite a common bond

alan here

I know these parts are usually expensive but im
just here to help others in that respect so if you need them send a post and we can work something out so you can use them
it surely is not about the money

Alan,

What a great reply, our members here are just trying to help, as I do as well. Always good when one asks questions and also provides answers when they can which I know is your intent. Everyone has something to offer. Cheers.

Abbreviations are easy, my problem is that half the people do not understand my accent and even less understand my jokes...

BTW, how much for the truck?

BTW, how much for the truck?[/QUOTE]

I knew you would pipe in Arde and make me chuckle!

Allan, Thanks for the description and very generous proposition regading the fender, I am mid garage build and have zero space or time for actual wrenching now. Once I get my parts stash out of storage we can certainly due some mutually beneficial trading? I have a ton of dealer bmw tools and NOS parts in storage. etc...

Because I can't figure out how to attach a pic to a PM, and you are an architect I wnt to show you a pic of the concept of my garage. It's more closed in than this pic and accommodates 2 lifts, 12 and a half foot ceilings and red dyed concrete. I neve loose a single small part on the floor. I have a studio above and sun deck up on 3 with a view of the ocean. Once it s done, free accommodation for any vintage bimmers enthusiasts.

Sorry for the off topic digression with my garage pic it's pouring rain here today and I can't work on the garage roof, so stuck here on line.

There are classifieds posting rules and a list of suggestions to help people with their ads. If someone doesn't follow the suggestions they will have a harder time selling their part, but it doesn't mean that they have to be corrected by everyone else.

Thanks for sticking around Alan, most would've left a long time ago. And while on the subject, how many others that were thinking about posting an ad are now having second thoughts? Come on people, go outside and polish your coupe or do something more productive.

Dan

The end.

I think it is more a generational thing with one side raised texting, tweeting and online and the other rooted in hardcopy print (that would be me), crafted sentence and formal communication between two parties. Almost a different language.

When Murray Fowler died (a member worth a google search for those that missed him), he was well into his eighth decade and I'm sure there are several members here that are in their twenties so the life perspectives are huge but that just adds to the fun - right?

Nothing personal, focus on the intent and we'll all enjoy the process. I'm still chucking over the 'ol truck and Stratocaster comment.

Here you go - had to edit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32WG1m381Cg

Good time to post that Murray link Doug. Whenever I try to explain to someone what a Coupe is and why I am lucky to own one, I show that.
