Truck lid will not stay open

Would it have anything to do with these end caps? Or the length of the rods? Or that I have no contact between the rod arm the stop plate attached to the wheel well?

My scissor arms are almost in-line with one another when my lid is up fully, while yours have an angle. The stop plates on the wheel wells provide adjustment. I don't understand why your arms don't contact the stop plates.

It's more about the spring rods spanning the width of the trunk lid, they need to be installed properly.
