My E9 is currently having rust repairs in prep for a full respray and we are finding all those hidden rust patches. I've been able to get most panels without to much hassle and at reasonable prices.

However, I've hit a wall with the spare wheel floor panel # 41 12 5 703 165 which is about A$1300 in Oz and from Rogertii about US$550 + US$345 shipping. I did a search and found a couple of US BMW dealers listing it for US$450 approx but they won't ship to Australia.

Does anyone know of another source in the US who could ship to Australia?

I have tried W&N -they say NLA, and from Jaymic it would land for about the same cost as in Australia.

UPS gave me an approximate cost of US$150-175 for shipping.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Fred, maybe try HC Sale ( Netherlands) . Price is 367 Euros ex VAT and shipping costs quoted in past on other items have been quite reasonable . Otherwise , get sheet metal worker to make one which may work out cheaper ?
Cheers, Simon

Bit of a thread jack, but how hard would it be to weld in just the well part that Bdigel has offered to cut out of his race car? My trunk bottom is quite mushy and I was thinking of repairing it with Fibreglass mat and POR 15. The reason I don't want to replace the whole panel is that my car has been in an accident in the rear corner and it was repaired nicely, but I do not want to disturb this area.

Probably easier than replacing the whole panel. When doing this you could potentially install the new round well piece about 1/2" deeper (if you are running 16" wheels then a 7 x 16" spare does not fit in the well designed for the 6-1/2 x 14 wheels. Not sure if it would be noticeable from the rear with this lower?

someone told me..

That if you find a 633 in a junk yard you can use that wheel well and it will accommodate a larger wheel/tire. Don't know if they are as plentiful down there?

I have now been able to source to panel and hopefully it won't take too long to be sent out from the US.
I needed the full panel as there is rust around the edges as well in the wheel well itself.
