Trying to identify engine in e9 coupe

Can anybody help me with identifying what year, model and bmw car the motor in my 69 coupe came from. Below is some information from various parts. The car came from holland back in 1992. Not sure if engine came from Europe or is from USA. I'm trying to order some engine parts.

Post a pic of the "85"
Do a compression test
You could be running a euro e32 block or ? With that head.
Look for the numbers above the starter .
 
I took photo of engine. Can not find seven digit near or above starter. Hard to see or get into that area.

I made an error on engine block number. It is 1287639 not L287639.

Still trying to figure out where motor came from.

Don, this should be a piece of cake for you! My guess-transplant from a US 633, 1985-not sure it's an upgrade :-) but that really is a guess.
 
Block says 3.5

No 633 cars in 1985 in USA.

Early Motronic.

It's a m30b34

Run a compression test......

Engine in 69 coupe

I found a bmw electrical troubleshooting manual for 528i and 535i and service manuals for 528e, 533i, 535i and 535is with parts from parts car I got with the coupe.

So I'm thinking the engine is from a 1986 535i. Not sure if USA or EURO engine. Will do compression test later.

The bosch motronic 1.0 has the following part number 0 261 200 059

Will try to get number above starter.
 
059 motronic goes to the m30b34 USA engine.
8:1 with M cam, 182 hp.
 
Sorry- engine head casting number is not a
Vin number.
Starting in 1988 vin numbers were affixed to the head with a sticker.
Not in 1985.
