I tell everyone that lists their car on BaT that the keyword is: PATIENCE. Referencing the comments section. It can be a lot more work than people realize. You can have 500 pics and people still want to see more sometimes. Patience is something I lack, especially in my drinking days. I wanted to say stuff that would have been flagged even in my own ad. But I recognize my weakness in that area. Trying to improve daily in all matters. And of course, being a guy, we don't listen like we should.

The (2) two times I had a Consignor [Avant-Garde (911r)] it did take a lot of the pressure and frustration out of the equation not having to deal with the comments but it is a double edged sword. Avant-Garde wasn't big on me chiming in and I had to bite my tongue at times, but the tradeoff was worth it, even with the 10% commision. For the lower priced cars I've sold, it wasn't a big problem. But the $50k and up stuff is something you just have to weigh personally (sell yourself or pay someone to do it for you).

The nice thing about Chris handling the sale is in the rare case he can't answer something, he can always just call and ask. But his word has become gold on BaT and worth the premium. Chris is much more knowledgeable about the coupes of course and I will give credit where credit is due, if selling a Porsche, Matt at Avant-Garde knows them well and obviously is very current on the market conditions. The reason I wrote this was I was watching the last auction, the '72 Fjord and there were a lot of last minute requests for pics and stuff and to me, that is stuff that should be asked early on in the auction. It distracts from the final bidding and can hurt the seller. Damned if they respond sometimes and damned if they don't. What bothers me the most is if you do decide to become a serious contendor, read through the damn comments first before asking a bunch of questions that have already been answered. Simple as that.
