UK RHD CSL for auction

Sold for 48k plus commission,

My mate stopped at 45k...

Good luck to the new buyer...

Hello
I'm a little curious.
Is there anyone know to which country the car went to.
Would have been great if it stayed in Europe

Some friends of mine in Sweden was very interested in buying this car
but could not check up the car on the spot
but what is the problem, I thought
They skipped the auction, which I thought was sad
for what looked to be a very good car for renovation

Hope the new owner puts up a renovation thread here

Friend of mine purchased the car. I've been helping him source a few of the parts needed for the car such as the airbox, front bumper and so on. Some pictures when I went round to his garage (he gave me permission to post these up on here)

It's gone to a great enthusiast home imo and I can't wait to see it recommissioned.

Something else to note, the bonnet, whilst it is steel, also has the CSL bonnet stay and does not feature any of the mechanisms that my CS does. If it was replaced, it was also stripped to bare metal and painted as areas where the paint has come off shows no sign of being repainted (either that or it came from another Chamonix car). I have seen that it was possible to equip these with steel bonnets on Town Pack vehicles, so it will be interesting to find out some history on this car!

It's good the car has remained in the UK

Can't wait to see it on the road after its restoration

Keep us posted on the restoration plze

Aluminium bonnet sold this year for 7k, I hope your mate can locate one to replace his steel one

There is another CSL in the background with the vinyl top and aftermarket sunroof. What's up with that car?
Is it part of the 'collection' along with the corvette and Porsche?

AS Mr Markos said, the same car! Hopefully BMW can shed a bit of light on the car and it's history
