Ultimate wagon ?

My first car was an a 1961 Austin Mini Countryman, a wagon with the wood trim. Throughout the years I have owned Mercedes wagons, Subaru wagons, a favourite was my BMW E39 Touring wagon. But I have just stumbled upon this. 1959 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham, Twin turbocharged, 16 years in the reconstruction, and finally offered for sale at auction, next month by Mecum :

Chrysler did the hard top wagon thing first starting with the 1960 New Yorker Town & Country. Fins included.

I’ve always loved wagons. I’ve owned a 63 Nova and a 56 Dodge in wagon form. Also an e39. Currently a Volvo xc70 cross country. On the lookout for an e91 328i touring.

An e30 wagon would be really cool. There is also a 510 wagon near my house that may be on my list some day.

This being said, the ultimate wagon has to be the elusive e46 M3 Touring.
Although, if you order it in a dark color so the beaver teeth are not so obnoxious, I hear lots of good things about the brand new (and finally officially released) M3 Touring.

We've had three e39 wagons, a sports car with a backpack. I just love them. My favorite was our first; great color combo, sports package (including seats), and a five speed manual. We bought it when it was two years old - my wife's daily for a few years. She looked so damn good driving that car!

Yes, that '61 Chrysler New Yorker wagon comes close, and is pretty impressive for a series-built car, but the design and attention to detail just aren't at the same level as the Caddy.

Just joined the Avants club this year. As much I love the BMW brand, I'm an overall car nut and love most things with wheels (and a long roof). The first meet I went to was a blast, everything from a 63 Chrysler convertible letter car to a new Bronco Raptor in the parking lot.
