Has anyone had same problem with dash underpanel?
Rubber/leather trim is coming loose from the steel panel.

How to fix?
Proper glue and clamp?

That’s a relatively common problem. If you use the search function (I used the work flocking) you’ll come across some advise on fixing it your self.
Here’s an example....

The other question that arises is that the separation can be extreme enough that you can crack the styrofoam or vinyl, bringing them back together. I placed the thing in the over at about 120F in hopes of reuniting the seperated parts and it was a no go. I tried to do this in steps to slowly bring them together and still no go. Any other ideas?

The "Rubber Gasket Rejuvenation" thread has a suggestion to make old gaskets pliable again, to soak the part in a mix of oil of wintergreen and alcohol. Might try that on your vinyl prior to glueing it back onto the steel.

I also had this problem, and I tried clamping it down with some nasty glue.
Put it away to come back 24 hours later to discover...

That It just snapped, and it is now showing a 10 mm / half inch wide split on the visible side over the full width. Turned from half decent into crap.

Not sure how the foam will react if you soften the vinyl, essentially you're (lightly) dissolving the vinyl, but how will the foam hold up?

For best result - rust need to be removed mechanically or chemically (your choice).
1. Cleaning
2. Degreasing
3. Rust converter
4. Good automotive water resistant elastic adhesive.
5. Fix with clamps
