I stumbled upon this vehicle, somehow both beautiful and ugly as hell, somehow both useful and totally impractical. It's a Ford Econoline Pickup (roughly made from 61-65). Anyways, someone talk me out of it before I buy one :rolleyes:


edit: or, if one of you knows where I can get an decent one for a decent price (college budget haha:() , send it my way!

They are retro-cool... I'm almost certain I had a Hot Wheels toy of this truck with surf boards and such. Similar to the VW utility "trucks" of the day.

I see them occasionally while surfing CL. I'll keep my eye out.

Those trucks are PDC (pretty darn cool) in my book. I've seen a lot of over-modified version, but I think a relatively stock vehicle is much better.
 
 
 
 
I would imagine a transport would cost about $1k for uncovered, about $1,400 for enclosed. I've used Montway, but there are dozens (or hundereds) of options. Of course, you'd be buying it sight unseen, I suppose... That is a long way from coast to coast...
