This one looks like it checks all of the spec boxes - upgraded engine, AC, sunroof, 5-speed. Looks nice and clean. Too bad they have only included 65 photos of which 5 are engine and 2 are underside. The car was owned for 27 years and driven 35.k miles during that time. This isn’t a car that someone just sat and looked at and they clearly took care of it - about 30 more photos and borrowing the use of a shop lift would so much help the auction. Would seem the owner knows the deal with these cars but didn’t include photos of any of the standard problem areas preemptively.

VIN - 2250543 ... new to the ancestry project. originally some shade of blue, since it has a black interior, my guess is it was originally nacht or atlantik

I was just about to post the link to this auction and ask what we know about the car. There does not appear to be any photos of the critical inspection areas (underside, sills, within the front fenders, behind the glove compartment, etc). I was trying to look carefully at the engine bay and it is clear the insulation has been removed, things have been repainted in there, and some rust is coming through/chipping up. But impossible to know the extent with the current presentation. Aside from that, a seemingly nice interior, AC... I assume more info will come, including some videos.

Nice car- but there was a reason why BMW did not put Alpine White on a Coupe.
It hardens all of the shapes and forms of the Coupe and that’s why there was:
Chamonix….

I have a Coupe in Paint right now that was painted Alpine white- and being returned to its original proper color Chamonix.

Can't understand why anyone would go from one of BMW's beautiful blues to white on a coupe.
Were Riviera blue cars of that era available with black interiors? If that’s the case with this car it’s even harder to understand.
Agreed, Chamonix would have been a better choice
Still a very nice car.

Right as always Don. I owned an 82,000 original miles, climate controlled stored, automatic, ac '76 Chaminoix 2002. While you say Alpine hardens the lines Chaminoix makes them soft and rich.

And thanks to JMinPDX who sold it to me. He just posted above my post.

Mine! Thx Don. And I agree with you. Much better color. This car was originally Fjord. I have seen it. Had headliner sagging (fixed I think) and some paint chips and like mentioned a couple of places where paint was looked at by one of my body guys. Wood a bit too shiny for me. But solid car. I looked at glove box and behind fuses. Clean. Didn’t drive it.
