Location
Boston, Ma
I have ordered a bunch of stuff for car, home etc that was shipped USPS. Am I the only one who watches their shipment skim their location, do more traveling around the country and show up weeks later? My postal guy is great but pleads the 5th. I think I am going to ship myself to my neighbor across the street in hopes of getting to travel and see the country for cheap. Very frustrating.

Yes! Twice recently my order originated in Northern California and took a week to go to New Jersey and then another week to get to me in Southern California.

I've seen this several times as well. It's very odd, as if it were to deliberately increase delivery times and dissuade people from using the service. When I ship at the USPS office it's rarely busy. Last week I had to use a UPS store for an Amazon return and the place was awash with packages.

Yes, has happen several times. I recently purchased a NOS bmw distributor rotor on eBay.
Shipped on July 6th from Morton Grove IL, arrived in a Portland facility 7/10 then went to Spokane, WA for a few days, then back to Portland for a couple of days and finally delivered on 7/17.
I’ve had USPS packages shipped from SOCAL go cross country then back to Portland.
It seems more likely to happen when you don’t use thier preprinted flat rate boxes for
Priority Mail service.

Ah. "The Chicago Way."

I had cookies sent to me from Seattle, 2 weeks later and after traveling around the country, they showed up at my local PO. The box which was a pre-paid USPS box, was trashed with no return label and they told me I needed to pay for the postage. I asked them if they would ever ship a USPS pre-paid box without being prepaid and they said no. So their logic escaped me. I told them to enjoy the stale cookies and walked out.
