Vaccum/Brake Problem ?

Hi , please help.When pressing brake pedal on my FI CSL (RHD) the engine idle increases from 900 rpm to about 1,300 rpm but when brake pedal is released, the idle returns to normal. Have searched Forum threads but could not find anything specific. One of the brake boosters has just been repaired but don't know how this might impact on the engine idle .Thanks, Wally
 
you are creating a vacuum leak when pressing the brake, it sounds like your new booster is leaking.

Did you mean: "if the brakes aren't properly bled, could the engine idle increases from 900 rpm to about 1,300 rpm when brake pedal is pressed"? I'd say "no".

How many brake boosters does your car have? I'm not familiar with RHD cars, but here in LHD-land, e9's just have one booster.

Servo's for RHD

Which servo was giving the problem causing you to get it repaired? The top (rear calipers and bottom pistons to each front caliper)or the bottom (upper pistons to front calipers only)? Out of interest what was the problem? Only a guess, but I am wondering if the air valve at the base of the unrepaired servo was the problem all along? Split diaphragm? Is the non-return valve in the correct way round? John Castle has done an excellent guide to these servo's as a supplement to the Autumn 2015 CS Register Newsletter.John.
 
RHD car has two servos.
Maybe, just guessing the non return valve is faulty.
Anyway will check on John Castle's guide.

where exactly can one find the John Castle Newsletter you refer to ?...is it a UK publication?. Thanks , Simon
