No. The valve cover doesn't match up with the upper timing cover, unless you use the older timing cover.
I am going to use the old timing cover (will be running triple webers, with a mallory mechanical advance distributor).
The question was more related to whether the stud positions match up, and whether I will need to use the e9 studs as well, is this the case?

You should be all right, then. As for the studs, I think you need the E9 studs, as the newer valve covers kinda sink in around the stud locations. Would only take about 5 seconds to check though, once you are at that point.
