Video: Iain Tyrrell Does a CSL

Excellent video from a highly respected vintage car restorer. With good basic maintenance info for the M30

Mods: Should this post should be moved to the e9 restoration forum since it is primarily about tuning the M30?

My first time with Iain but certainly not the last. Thanks for posting this John. If you own a CS of any kind this is a must watch video. His repair of the distributor on this CSL is a lesson in trouble shooting for any owner/mechanic.

He is a little misinformed on the number of CSi built and claiming many were automatic. We know only a few did have automatic.

there was a series of RHD CSiA (4330xxx) - the manual tranny RHD CSi is (4350xxx). i don't really have any records of any 226xxxx or 434xxxx automatics.

I believe 433xxxx is CSA, the Wiki called them CSiA, I would to have someone prove me wrong. I don’t understand why only the RHD CSi would have had their own VIN series for an automatic.

could well be Chris - this is from the VIN number info on e9coupe / e9 registry
