VIN number location

Might be a dumb question but where is the VIN number located on 2800cs and 3.0CS? I don't have an access to a donor car and while looking at firewall of restored chassis I've bought a few years ago I just can't locate it. Picture would be awesome. Thanks!

It's directly in front of passenger on the firewall facing the cabin. It's stamped. Stamped plate is near the strut bearing but also in the fresh air plenum.

Also the top of steering column cover in the interior, and on the engine block by the firewall above the starter - stamped into a small flat area.

My 72 euro has one on the steering column. Imported from Germany in the early 80's. I do not think it was added during the federalization process. Maybe someone can tell by the rivets.
