Vintage E9/Porsche Scheel Seats

i'm 6'-3" and am tall from the waist up ... i fit just fine with the 400. i use the ardvaark plates on std. brackets.

Thought I would chime in here , as have been digging around scheels a touch.

Pics below .. My Scheel 203 on the left, getting a touch up at the moment..

kind of a sibling of the 100 / 101 as per the ad, so the seat is "period correct" per se.

Note the other catalogue below, the 203s has larger side bolsters.

Same theme on the 500 series as per other catalogue, 500 series more common fitted by Alpina aftermarket in the e21, and offered by BMW on the 2002, note the external metal frame, and the 500s with bigger side bolsters. see pics below

I have seen the Scheel 203s fitted to an Alpina E12.

Yet to see evidence that Alpina offered the 203 (as opposed to the 203s), as part of their aftermarket tuning package for the E9, but lots of evdiens a wide rnage of seats were offered by Alpina in that period - note the 2002 Alpina ad from 1970 with a range of scheel or recaro to choose from.

Most of the E9 Alpina tuned cars done aftermarket I can find, have the 500s fitted.

I am trying to find any evidence they offered the Scheel 203 for the E9 as part of their aftermarket tuning catalogue....

Anyway, thought I would share the pics.

Hi,
Your seat looks to be a Scheel 201 seat with the later type of hinge? The 203(s) seats are A.S.S. seats. I have a nice pair of the 203 seats ( not the 's', but the ones with the smaller bolsters ), they were mostly used for smaller cars like the 02 series and the E21 series. The 100/101 seats are bucket seats.

mine are def the scheel / ass 203. They came out of a ford escort rs2000 here is Aus.. was the factory option for that car.. note the second picture in.. internal hinge per se..
