Hey Folks,

Am trying to find a well sorted e9 period correct
vintage working/refurbished Europa or Frankfurt AM-FM radio that
can accept an iPod input.

I've seen them on EBAY and am wondering if
anyone has any trusted sources/resources.

Any and all info is appreciated.

Chuck

Chuck,

Athena's Frankfurt came from Simon Poynder, Simufly on this forum. He's located in the UK. Very good price, he may have one.

I installed an accesory plug in the glove compartment attached with velcro. I tapped into the purple wire, which is keyed power, with an inline fuse to run a charging chord for an iPhone dock. The dock sits in the lower shelf of the center console. It is easlily hidden at the back of the console when at a show, so it looks 100% stock.

Have the same setup in Vern, with the dock located in the ash tray.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Restored-Cl...Parts_Accessories&hash=item2333452574&vxp=mtr Not cheap, but it is a good price. The 6 pre-set button units (as compared to the 5 button radios) were the last generation of these classic Europas. There is also another EBay seller who has nice refurbished Beckers. I have bought freshly refurbished Becker Europas from both and have been completely satisfied with my purchases.

You can also contact www.beckerautosound.com for factory refurbished radios/stereos. Personally, I'd go for the front panel iPod input jack, which can be done at Becker. It may also be a good idea to have them install RCA outputs jacks for an external amplifier. Expect prices to be higher than the EBay guys.

I have a brand new old radio from Becker. It looks factory but has USB, aux., and CD player. A little spendy at around $600 but I really like it and the guys there are great to work with

If you find a stock Becker, Beckerauto also sells an ipod input that plugs into the cassette out jack of the unit if you prefer not to have the hole drilled in the face plate. Might also fit Blaupunkts too.
