Finally got round to hanging the new exhaust system, and wondering if the alignment is as it should be. The car (RHD 2800cs, 3.5) is on CN springs, and the system is vulnerably low, and not centered under the drive shaft. Will the sealing rings accommodate a bit of adjustment without leaking?

may I suggest that you install the flange with a little more care?

I’ve been dragging my small center can as well. BTW, Larini, Fritz, Walloth are all the same systems so buy based on total cost with shipping.

Chris! What, U.K. Fritz Bits are the same parts as WnN? The guy at Fritz Bits gave me the impression he made them especially and had tuned them for added torque.
Are they stainless or mild steel, or are they the same just made of whichever material is ordered?

Half an hour of manipulation and I have a much better fit, still low but more central and more clearance. Sounds excellent,.
I'm running into the same issues with mine and a horrible "fit" of the exhaust tip at the rear exit. I'm going to send you a message regarding something slightly off topic.

post a picture. is it wrapping around the spare tire well incorrectly?
I got my Fritz Bits and the last part of the tailpipe was bent wrong.
VSR fixed it and Fritz paid for the labor.

Stan, is that last piece of tail pipe attached to the bodywork anywhere? I wonder as mine has a very difficult to access home made looking bracket.

@Stan, these were during install and after driving it back home. One thing I've noticed is some e9's have a bracket coming off of the transmission bracket to hold the exhaust in place to reduce sagging. It doesn't appear yours has that bracket? Food for thought, when I bought mine from Fritz, it only came with one exhaust gaskets/O-Rings (I believe it's a 45mm o ring) for the downpipe to mid section as he was out? So, I tried sourcing others that are the correct size but it's been a struggle. I think I have the correct ones coming in soon.

@Cornishman, mine didn't come with a mounting tab on the last piece of tail pipe to connect it to the OEM hanger.

Sorry @Ian C for the hijacking!

That is still insanely low exhaust.

Anyone run an exhaust with just a y-pipe and straight pipe along that driveshaft, but with the rear resonators still? Wonder how loud it'd be.

The tailpipe uses a round clamp that attached to a fiber hanger and then to a tab on underside of body. The fiber hanger is similar but a different part number than the two which hold the rear muffler and they are all very expensive from BMW. The four speed uses a bracket to support the downpipes but it doesn’t work on a five speed as trans is longer, they can be modified to work so most don’t have one
