Walloth Nesch Fuse box cover

W&N invoice

Received the order invoice from W&N. Covers should arrive shortly and will be mailed out via USPS Priority. Maybe will luck out without paying customs duties and DHL handling charges due to shipment's small and light packaging. Preliminary total including shipping to your destination should be about $30 or less.

Amount indicated below is in Euros. Current exchange is 1.30. Per unit price including DHL express shipping is $22.25.

The shipment arrived late yesterday. Looks good as original (should be since they are NOS) and fits/sits well into fuse box. I'll post some pictures of the covers and the payment details later this evening. Thanks!

Paypal is preferred, but I'll accept a check if so desired. If paying by check, please send PM for my mailing address. There will be an added $1.20 surcharge to cover my Paypal cashing fees. My Paypal account is m6csi at att dot net .

A $1.95 Customs duty and DHL handling fees have been added. Customs charge 2.50% against total invoice and DHL levies a flat $31 handling fee. DHL usually mails a bill about 4 weeks after shipment delivery. If I get lucky and there is no bill from DHL, then I'll refund $1.95 to everyone through Paypal or by mail.

Total cost including DHL shipping is about $490. Here is the cost breakdown per unit:

$22.25 each (includes DHL express shipping).
1.20 Paypal fee
1.95 Customs and DHL handling fees
5.35 USPS Priority
_______
$30.75---Total

I'll package everyone's order and will try to ship them all out by either Tuesday or Wednesday. Don't know if Paypal will furnish your shipping address, if not, please PM your address to me. If someone has a Canadian shipping address, then there will an extra postage charge for international Priority delivery.

glenn in encinitas---The postage for your 2 covers remains at $5.35.

EDIT---Have to raise the Payal fee from .75 to $1.20 as they charge a .04% service fee per transaction, that's a $1.23 fee for $30.75. Sorry about that! If paying by check, please deduct the Paypal fee, making the total of $29.55. THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!

Payment sent

Hi Bert,
Thanks so much for doing this. I just finished sending you my payment through PayPal. Thanks,
John

You are very welcome guys! :D

This turned out to be a really good group buy for us, €16 ($21) for each unit versus the present price of €23.50 ($30.55) per. The total cost of about $31 for each unit (including all additional costs) was more than reasonable for a NOS NLA coupe part.

Will ship out first batch of covers tomorrow. Again, thanks guys!

For the forum members who have sent in payments, your packages have been shipped via USPS Priority small flat rate boxes. They have been carefully wrapped with bubble wraps and styrofoam peanuts to prevent any or most shipping mishaps. I've shipped 14 covers, will send the respective tracking numbers to everyone via emails later on tonight. Packages should arrive at their destinations anywhere from 1 to 3 days, depending on distance from the SF Bayarea. Thanks!!!

Bert,

Popped right in...

Once again thanks for doing this for the group. Little by little getting missing pieces back on my car.

Cover fitting trick

Have always found the fuse covers to be a little loose fitting on the 2 coupes I've owned, and also noticed this condition on a few other coupes that I have checked.

Never really have analyzed why this is so until a few days ago. After playing around with the new cover for a while with my spare fuse block (as well as the block on my coupe), believe I've found the problem and a solution to a better fitting cover (pretty sure others have found the fix also).

The problems lie with the very shallow fitting lock tab that is on the bottom edge of cover and an ill defined receiving slot on fuse block. After cover has been seated into block, it is still very very easy for it to be jolted loose (rough roads anyone?). Here is the trick to better "lock" the cover into place: After it has been fitted and seated flush with fuse block, press straight downwards (into bottom lock tab) until a click is heard. Doing this simple procedure will better "seat" the cover lock tab, thereby making it much harder to be dislodged. Fitting cover into the spare block, I was not able to dislodge the cover even after much hard shaking. Maybe this fitting method is how BMW had intended for it to be.

Hope everyone has received their covers already! Believe most have taken delivery of theirs today. If not today, most likely tomorrow.

you are almost right bert
those are really tiny tabs
I had not a cover in my fuse box
fortunately i found a source of NOS original (not repro) fuse box covers (expensive, but lovely)
i just checked the assembly and you are right, a click is the prove of a good seat and tight clamp

regards

see my brand new NOS cover, it has a yellowish finish (period correct !, ha, ha), but the same tiny clamps

All covers have sent shipped except for one. Hope everyone has received theirs. Don't know if this forum member still wants it. If I don't hear from him in about a week or so, then, this last cover will be offered up for sale again. Thank you all for your participation in this successful group buy.
