Hello,

I am having a problem with my idling after starting, idles high when starting which it should, but does not come back down.
I was told by my local mechanic that it is due to the "Idle Air Valve". The only place I was only able to find one is on Ebay VERY EXPENSIVE... or can it be rebuilt, what are my options?

Thanks,
Michael

That part is the manifold pressure sensor @Fritzie

@ocra67 is looking for an AAV - additional air slide valve for cold idle enhancement.

A member of the german forum offers the overhaul of the ZLS (ZusatzLuftschieber) with new expansion elements:
Last price was about 320 Euro if you bring in your ZLS.

Furthermore he offers new filter housings and new specially made filter elements for the original housing.
Last price was about 150 Euro

I see Bosch nowadays remakes them instead of repair.

Check the numbers by yourself please.
Hi Ftritzie,
I just got an answer from Bosch: they don't do those repairs no more...
" Unfortunately we do not offer repair / testing / replacement / new part of this product.
Reasons for this can be no spare parts and equipment available, obsolete technology or no availability of test technology."

Hi Tom,
So, whenever you have time, would you kindly let me know Mr Ebner contact information? Thank you.

In the meantime I have my D-jetronic parts overhauled by this company in Germany.

Hi Fritzie,
it would be good for others to know what had been overhauled and how much it cost.

Hello Tom,
The overhaul of my manifold air pressure sensor (Druckfühler) D-jetronic costed €640,= including VAT and transport.

(If you drive a new BMW it’s peanuts )

...if you have nothing you should be happy to obtain it, even you wouldn't be sure it's still intact after all these NOS years.
Otherwise, get your part overhauled, also not cheap! Before, test it as described above, maybe it's still doing it's job well.
Don't forget the air filter! Sure it's doing it's job after 50 years? How to test? Cannot!
Let me know if you need assistance!
Thomas
