I'm after the under bonnet engine bay colour decal for my 72 cs, can anyone put up a link as to where I can find one? Even if I have to have the complete engine bay set.
Thanks in advance.

The position is just under the VIN plate.

Interesting placement of the Cooling System sticker, it should be on the metal expansion tank. In the US the tire sticker on passenger fender was only on 2800CS coupes and of course we don’t use the ECE sticker, we have a larger DOT/EPA sticker there but on some coupes it is on the driver side instead.

Right, the sticker was for the brass expansion tanks and didn’t quite fit on the plastic ones thus the alternate spot possibly although coolant sticker is on the plastic tank on Christoph’s Tiaga original car. Attached pic
The E1E2 sticker is interesting, normally says E9 type and for the Csl it says Csl. Attached pic
Finally, a pic of the US sticker configuration. Interestingly the VIN plate says USA on it.

I’ve never seen a VIN plate with USA on it. Can’t make out the year on the EPA sticker. And shouldn’t the battery sticker be here?

Your battery sticker is definately in the right place....but I have seen them occasionally lower, on supposedly unrestored cars. The Bat 2 4355050 which has been in storage since 1980 due to a major accident and is definately unrestored, also has a plastic expansion tank and if I’m not mistaken, the battery sticker is also visible and in the correct position.

What’s strange is the parts book shows a synthetic tank with a note ‘by choice’ but excluding CSi and CSiL. I think definitely available by late 74 or early 75 perhaps but commonly seen on e12/e24 and later cars. These tanks also used a different large return hose.

Also just noticed that the Bat has a flag mirror which wasn’t available until 1975.

As always, no hard and fast rules..... The Bat is a 1975, being the 7th last Bat produced.
Mike’s black Bat 2 produced in 1974 has the brass tank. So yes, possibly the very last few 1975’s got the plastic tanks and the Polaris one has an electric mirror too, like the Black one!
