In the course of my recent search for the 3.0 CS I have found this E9 for sale in Greece: http://www.car.gr/classifieds/cars/view/2844786/
After a lengthy discussion on the history of this quite good example I have managed to obtain (that wasn't easy) its chassis number, which is 4305025, so the '3.0 CS' turned out to be a 2.5 CS.(The response from BMW Group Archiv: 'The BMW 2.5 CS VIN 4305025 was manufactured on July 15th, 1974 and delivered on July 26th, 1974 to the BMW dealer Krafag in Diez, Germany. The original colour was Fjord metallic, paint code 037.').
The seller said that the car had come to Greece from Canada long ago and since no 2.5 CS were officially exported to North America it was '100% 3.0 CS' but I was confused by the side markers location.
I have notified the seller on that by providing the official BMW comment but he denied the real story quite aggressively and as I see the ad remains in its original wording.
So, gentlemen, watch out.
Regards, Vadim.
