Weber conversion height issue

I've recently converted to weber carburetors and have noticed an indentation from the air box in the foam hood liner.
From the pictures attached, can the "black spacer" be swapped out with something smaller in height. Any other solutions one may have.
Thanks

That is a common problem with the Webers. You can remove it but expect your fuel bowls to evaporate even quicker. I would look for something thinner to replace it or have someone cut them in half with a bandsaw maybe?

I believe that Weber puts out a thinner phenolic spacer but depending on how thick your air cleaners are, may not help enough. Redline, or a few other places that sell Weber parts Brain fart right now, can't remember a few other shops Time for google

Thanks, Rick
