Those look like e24 or later colors, especially the Alpina green, very olive drab in person, I know of two B7 e24 Alpinas in that color. The second looks like what you might find after drinking way too much the night before.

panel welting

That's a great idea attaching the welting directly to the door panel rather than gluing and screwing it to the door.

I am still going through my process of choosing color and am (at the moment) considering green.

I have just seen these two pics of those colors so I am am looking for more to get a better idea of them. The googles tell me very little.

Alpina green : http://www.bmw-cscoupe.com/images/alpinagruen.jpg

Amazonit : http://www.bmw-cscoupe.com/images/amazonitgruen.jpg

Needs to match interior which looks like below.

Thanks,

Johan

I vote for Amazonit. All BMWs of that era should be distinctive colors. My first 2002 was Golf, and my e9 is Granatrot.

Isn't the Alpina green the color of the coupe in BMW's Munich museum?
And is that car in the museum because they could not sell it when new?

The Amazonit is awesome me thinks.

But, the route I´ll most likely be going, is Taiga, has become by far my favorite color and will suit my project perfectly.

Great color IMO.

Well, I have not fully decided on green. Although it can be very nice on a car like this.

I was just curious about these two colors as I found them here : http://www.bmw-cscoupe.com/farben/farben.html
Amazonit is 063

Googling told me very little, the only things I found about Amazonit was this :
http://e9coupe.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-1873.html
www.e9coupe.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-4950.html
And that did not help too much.

Arde - I think the one I saw in the museum was Fjord.

GJenssen - That is indeed a beautiful Taiga pic. Think I have to move it up the list. Other taiga pics I have seen have been more bland. Sorry Quincey :)

Quincey - I did say consider so it is not sure I will go with green.

HB chris - the Alpina green is pretty drab, was just curious of it really existed.

Mintgrun (Pastel Green)

There is a Mintgrun 3.0 (1974) that I see often in my neighborhood. It is pretty cool.

Taiga

FYI, I have plenty of Taiga pics in my '76 3.0 Si thread in the E3 section.

ha, ha, johan
it is your car, so you choose the colour
and again, i do not like green, probably IMHO no car looks good in green, or say it this way, there is always a better colour for a car than green;)

You want a nice presentable e9 paint it one of the standard colors. Want your car to have an attitude go Taiga or Amazonit. Look at those 5 e9's lined up at that Houstin shoot, very nice ,in fact exceptional cars. But ask yourself what car jumps out at you. The Taiga green one.

Yeah Fstede, that is the question isn't it? Have a classic discreet look or stand out? Not an easy choice, easier to get tired of a car that stands out with a more "extreme" color. But I want to show off the car :)

Did not quite understand your post at first. Did not know the Taiga pic came from another thread but I found it: http://www.e9coupe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12276&highlight=houston

Beautiful cars....

A quote from the most interesting man in the world:

"I don't usually like green cars; but when I do, I prefer Taiga!"
