I would recommend you to buy an endoskop camera (100€?) and to visit an experienced e9 owner in your area.
Learn about the critical topics of an e9 and how to use the endoskop.
Going inside; then the A-pillar down and see at the buttom.
See added picture. NOT visible from outside.

Thank you for the advice. I can get an Endoscope...but what points on the car give me access to the internals? You mention the A post? Is there a hole in there I can use. Any information would be very helpful. Thank you

there are 3 or 4 access holes on the inner rocker panels accessible from the interior of the car, pull the carpet up and you'ss see them, usually with a white plastic pug on them. See pic above the wiring

Wilies13 is giving you the best advice! Most of us wish we had heard it when we bought our coupes. At least we would know what we were getting into.
If you have to, pay a knowledgable owner to spend a few hours with your potential new love. Most of us will happily do it for free.
Although most of us reside in a Colony across a pond.

This is fascinating, you got me doubting myself. So I checked my video carefully.
Could this car have sold twice at the London Classic Car show in Excel!!
I watch a blue RHD csi being sold on Sunday as lot 225a, where your photo shows it as lot 109 with a red car in front of the screen.
As lot 225a the hammer fell at £24,000. It had a green car parked in front of the screen.
There are many assumptions that can be drawn, perhaps the best one is that there are 2 similar cars!!!

I like the approach with the inner rockets panels. Maybe not every seller allows to remove the carpets including trim strip (?).
What I recommended:
Behind the glove box (or similar on the other side) there is at the higher end an access into the A-post (sorry; translator misleads me)
See added picture.
From there you can go down inside the A-post.
At the lower end you are there like my previous picture or in other words here:
https://www.wallothnesch.com/en/repair-panel-for-lower-a-post-right-23965.html
Hoefully this helps-I wish you a lot of success !

How strange. So you were there Sunday. I was there Saturday for this particular lot. Maybe something happened and they put it up for sale again. If it did sell for £24k second time, then that’s an absolute bargain!

I might contact someone at Coys. Can you post the video? Or DM me and give you my email address to send it too. I love a mystery!

I’ve included the listings. No 225A but definitely a 225.

The main problem in the UK is that there is very little choice - £5k parts cars or £50k+ "restored"

There is also this one coming up (no connection to me!) - looks a bit more honest?

https://online.handh.co.uk/m/lot-details/index/catalog/114/lot/43802/?url=/m/view-auctions/catalog/id/114/

I was out bid on this one. It sold for £62000 + fees (~71,000). It was a nice car but NOT that nice IMHO. Premium paid for the colour etc. See the other thread for high quality pics of its problem areas for me. But in the end someone really wanted it.
