What is this carb part?

I'm putting a set of Zenith carbs off a 3.0CS onto my 1970 2800CS. The newer carbs have a steel pipe connection that is not present on the older set. It looks like maybe this is the EGR line? As my car does not the other parts that this connects to, can this simply be blocked off? Thanks

block the red arrowed, and unblock the the red capped ones, these ones should be connected together and to the air filter element

Great, thanks. I think I'll link them together with a couple of these hose barbs.

of course do what you want, but my advice is a bit different, or maybe i msunderstood your words,

the red arrowed ends belong to the manifold, my experience after linking them together was not so positive, and i ended up capping them

the other points that are now capped with a red cap belong to the carb, these are two tubes one per carb that should be connected together using adequate hoses and a T connector, and then from the T connected to the air filter box

hope that now you can diferentiate and make the right decission

Oh, interesting. Thanks for the photos. I was going off info from an older thread where having a balance tube was positively reviewed. What negative experience did you have?

The coupe looks beautiful by the way.
