what is this part ???

can anybody help to identify this part ..it is approx 14mm long , shaped like a small barrel, with an o ring in the centre.... I was refitting a front seat when I found it on the back floor carpet ... Could it be a component from the seat ??

my car is a 1974 Csi euro (RHD) please help , hope it isnt a part from inside the seat as they where just re covered and I dont really want to pull it apart again !
